Students were invited to participate in a contest in which they proposed designs that re-configured the urban landscape on NE 41st street and the Design District. This environmental design project is the creation of an Urban Landscape incorporating shade, seating, water and public gathering spaces. The challenge is to make exciting design accessible to everyone. This grant was made possible by a donation from Rosa and Carlos de la Cruz and a matching donation from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation.

Submissions were judged by a panel of professionals and members of the community that included John Marquette, Terrence RIley, Adriana Savino-Miller and Barry Miller.
