DESIGN A NEW DASH: 2011
A CONTEST TO ENVISION A NEW DASH
Students from Design and Architecture Sr. High (DASH) will start a project where they will be asked to design proposals for a new DASH. 43 students will participate in this project, where the first prize awards are $3,500, as well as six $2,500 honorable mentions and thirty one $1,000 awards for participation.
Students will prepare drawings and three-dimensional models for the re-design of the school. They will develop ideas on how they envision the art school of the future. DASH has played a major role in the rebirth of the Miami Design District and the students will be asked to treat the new design as a cultural hub for the community.
This program was made possible with generous contributions made by Carlos and Rosa de la Cruz in partnership with the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation. Additional support was provided by the Braman Family Foundation, Inc. and Craig Robins.
