BIOS

Cristina Lei - Rodriguez

Cristina Lei Rodriguez was born in 1974 in Miami, FL where she lives and works today. She graduated from Middlebury College and has a Masters in Fine Arts from California College of Art and Crafts. She has two upcoming solos in 2011- one with Team Gallery (New York) and another with Fredric Snitzer Gallery (Miami). Rodriguez was selected to participate in a group show highlighting forty young American artists, Uncertain States of America. The exhibition traveled extensively to museums for 3 years including Astrup Fearnley Museum of Modern Art (Oslo), the Hessel Museum at Bard College (New York) and the Serpentine Gallery (London). Her work has been exhibited nationally and international at museums and galleries such as the Miami Art Museum (Miami), Museum of Contemporary Art North Miami (Miami), de la Cruz Collection (Miami), The Rubell Family Collection (Miami), Galerie Emmanuel Perrotin (Paris, Miami), Mary Boone Gallery (New York) and Blum and Poe (Los Angeles). Reviews of her work can be found in Art in America, Art News, The New York Times, Financial Times, Wallpaper, Time Out New York, The New Yorker, The Miami Herald and the New Times. Rodriguez is represented by Fredric Snitzer Gallery (Miami), Team Gallery (New York) and Brand New Gallery (Milan).

Shane Aslan Selzer

Shane Aslan Selzer is an artist based in Brooklyn, NY. Exhibitions include Rush Art Gallery, Andrew Kreps Gallery in New York; The Suburban in Oak Park, IL; BRIC Rotunda Gallery, Brooklyn, NY; The Poor Farm Contemporary Art Center, Manawa, WI; Dimensions Variable, Miami, FL; Socrates Sculpture Park, Queens, NY; The and P.S.1 Contemporary Art Center. She has been an artist in residence at The Bag Factory in Johannesburg, SA; Socrates Sculpture Park, LIC, NY; Jamaica Flux, JCAL, Queens, NY; and Studio Chicago, SAIC Sullivan Galleries, IL; This spring Selzer has been developing a series of programs around the topic of failure (www.failuretalks.wordpress.com ) in collaboration with The University at Albany Art Museum and the Fine Arts Department. Her work has been reviewed in Artforum, The NYTimes, artnet and regional publications.
