Panel Discussion: 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM

Co-organized by the de la Cruz Collection,
Miami Design District and the Hyatt Foundation.

With the support of the Miami Center for Architecture and Design.

Cities are where most of the world’s population lives and numbers are increasing. It is in cities where important issues such as growth, housing, sustainability and quality of life will be faced.

In a conversation led by author and critic Paul Goldberger, Pritzker Architecture Prize laureates discussed themes related to architecture and the city, pondering such questions as: the impact architecture has on cities; how much does architecture matter to the social/economic/cultural challenges facing cities; what is the role of architecture in establishing a city’s identity: is iconic architecture in opposition with urbanism, or can they complement and reinforce each other?
