Ping Pond Table
, 1999, is connected to this idea of a new space, a new possible space. It has the shape of a lotus flower, referencing Buddhism or Indian culture. "Games are expressions of how we believe the universe works in different cultures. Every game has a connection to how we conceive nature and landscape, how we order and we structure reality. I am interested in the in-between space, which is the same as the in-between of the photograph and the spectator."
(Interview with Gabriel Orozco, Art 21, 2003).

Gabriel Orozco was born in Jalapa, Veracruz, Mexico 1962.
He lives and works in New York and Paris.
